CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a non-intoxicating, non-addictive phytocannabinoid that is derived from the cannabis. Phytocannabinoids are the chemical compounds found within the plant that have a range of benefits as they work with our endocannabinoid system in our bodies. There are over 100 different phytocannabinoids that can be found in the plant.
Cannabinoids are a group of fatty compounds actively produced by all cannabis plants. Cannabinoids found in plants are actually called phytoccanibinoids, while cannabinoids that are produced in our bodies are called endocannabinoids. The cannabis plant can produce more than 100 different phytocannabinoids naturally.
Of the 100+ non-intoxicating phytocannabinoids, Cannabidiol (CBD) is the one that is most widely known. Sometimes called “whole-plant” oil, full spectrum oil contains all of the cannabinoids in the plant that it was extracted from. Full Spectrum Hemp Oil also contains terpenes, the aromatic components of hemp, and flavonoids. By using Full Spectrum oil we are achieving what is known as “the entourage effect.” This is described when multiple cannabinoids work together rather than alone. Full Spectrum oil also uses THC to help with the entourage effect and will always be below 0.3%.
Broad Spectrum, like full spectrum, contains a range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. However, broad spectrum hemp oil contains 0.0% THC.
